The General Directorate of Civil Defense has called on residents to take care, stay in safe places, keep away from valleys and areas where floodwater collects, avoid swimming in them, and follow official instructions shared through the media and social media. Thunderstorms are expected to continue over most regions of the Kingdom until next Wednesday.

According to the National Center for Meteorology, the Makkah region will see moderate to heavy rain leading to flash floods, hail and downdraft winds that stir up dust and sand. Areas affected include Makkah city, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Bahra, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Al-Lith and Al-Qunfudhah.

The center also expects the Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha regions to be hit by moderate to heavy rain with flash floods, hail and dusty downdraft winds, while light to moderate rain is forecast for the Madinah, Hail, Al-Jouf and Northern Borders regions.
