Residents, visitors and tourists in Unaizah were invited to explore Saudi folk heritage at "Heritage District", a two-day event held at Jadat Al-Nakheel by the Unaizah Tourism Cooperative Association to coincide with the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Seven pavilions covered falconry, Saudi coffee, handicrafts, a traditional majlis, Arabic calligraphy and folk arts, alongside an exhibition on the writer Abdullah bin Khamis, giving visitors a glimpse of traditional ways of life and inherited customs.

Executive Director Bandar Al-Jenaini said the event is one of the association's projects to mark international occasions, adding that celebrating intangible heritage brings inherited practices such as arts, crafts and dialects closer to visitors and young people.

Kholoud Al-Mizani, the association's public relations and media officer, said it seeks to hand traditions such as camel chanting, falconry, coffee preparation and crafts down the generations, and urged families to bring their children to see old tools and practices first-hand.

At the falconry pavilion, falconer Nahar Al-Otaibi said 11 falcons and about eight falconers took part, displaying old and modern equipment and explaining to visitors how falcons are cared for.
