The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) today issued a red alert for Makkah and Al-Jumum Governorate, warning of heavy rainfall accompanied by very strong winds that can reduce horizontal visibility to zero.

The centre also warned of hail, flash floods and thunderstorms with lightning in the affected areas.

According to the NCM, the weather conditions are expected to last until 9 pm.
