The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has stressed that every home should have a fire extinguisher and that residents should learn how to use it correctly in case a fire breaks out, to protect lives and property.
Dry powder extinguishers are effective against many types of household fire, the directorate said, because they act quickly to stop flames from spreading and bring them under control.
It urged the public to follow the safety guidance it publishes through the media and on social media. In an emergency, residents of the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern Province regions should call 911, while those in all other regions of the Kingdom should call 998.
