Patients covered by Saudi Arabia's mandatory health insurance can continue their treatment at home, as the policy includes home healthcare services, the Council of Health Insurance has confirmed, Saudi Gazette reported.

Covered services include fitting urinary catheters, giving intravenous medicines after surgery and caring for surgical wounds. The council stressed that recovery does not stop at hospital discharge but carries on in the patient's home.

Beneficiaries can request these services online through a channel set up by the Ministry of Health.
