The Saudi Council of Health Insurance has announced an “alternative insurance” service that makes it easier for beneficiaries to move from one health coverage to another under approved rules, helping keep their cover uninterrupted, Okaz newspaper reported.
The service applies when a beneficiary is entitled to more than one policy. It is open to workers in relation to the employer of a husband, wife or parent, or where the beneficiary is covered by a policy as an employee.
To use it, the employer holding the new policy must give explicit consent. The beneficiary must also fill in the mandatory personal details, upload the required documents, and complete and submit the complaint form through the customer relationship management system.
