A project to manufacture advanced control systems for the water sector locally has been launched by the Saudi Water Authority in alfanar City, in partnership with alfanar Industrial Company and Rockwell Automation and under the patronage of the authority's President, Eng. Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim.
Described as the first of its kind in the Middle East, the project is a key pillar for running water supply chains with advanced systems that allow real-time monitoring of operations, data analysis, greater efficiency and more reliable service.
It is expected to raise local content, put national talent in charge of vital technologies, support the growth of advanced industries and reduce reliance on imported solutions, strengthening the sector's readiness in line with development goals.
According to the authority, demand for control systems in water sector projects is expected to exceed SAR4 billion by 2030, which should bring economic benefits and new investment opportunities in related technology industries.
