Jeddah Governorate Municipality has closed two unlicensed sites producing and preparing food in the Al-Harazat and Al-Qouz districts in the east of the governorate, destroying 2.5 tons of products and seizing equipment during a joint inspection campaign.

Yasser Bakhsh, the municipality's director general for monitoring and addressing negative phenomena, said inspectors found that both sites failed to meet approved municipal and health requirements. Legal action was taken, with 1.5 tons destroyed at the Al-Harazat site and one ton at the Al-Qouz site.

The municipality said it will keep up inspections of food and commercial businesses to check compliance, curb illegal practices and protect consumers' health and safety.

Citizens and residents are encouraged to report municipal violations through the Balady app or the unified call centre on 940.
