Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture told Okaz newspaper that pesticide use and farming activities are governed by rules designed to protect public health and the environment and keep agricultural produce safe. It warned that violators will face penalties.

The ministry said it has published the 'Pesticides Guide 2026', which regulates how pesticides are registered, traded and used. The guide contains updated lists of registered and approved products, identifies restricted and banned ones, and sets out safe-use instructions and the safety intervals to observe before harvest.

It also gives trade names, application rates and methods, and classifies products as insecticides, acaricides, fungicides, herbicides and others.
