Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Competition (GAC) has launched its 2026 awareness campaign against collusion in tenders and procurement, in partnership with several government bodies, under the slogan 'Collusion is a loss for everyone'. The campaign aims to help people recognise collusive practices and their warning signs, build a culture of compliance, make government spending more efficient and boost trust in markets.

It focuses on the most common forms of collusion, such as agreeing on prices, dividing up markets and coordinating bids and tenders, and explains how to prevent and report them. Awareness materials and workshops are aimed at government entities, private companies, suppliers and consumers.

GAC CEO Dr. Fahad Al-Shathri said collusion distorts fair competition, drives up the cost of projects and purchases and limits companies' chances to compete and innovate. Fighting it, he said, protects public funds and makes markets work better.

He added that spending on projects and procurement is not merely a financial obligation but an investment in development and better services that should deliver the best possible value for the nation and society.

The authority encouraged all organisations, businesses and individuals to use the campaign's materials to better understand the risks of collusion and help secure the best value for public money.
