The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has launched an awareness initiative titled "Khair Amtarna Bi Wa'i Af'alna" (roughly, "the blessing of our rain through mindful actions") to make the public more aware of safety precautions when it rains, encourage preventive habits that protect lives and property, and highlight how residents can support field teams.
The campaign calls on people to follow safety instructions, keep away from places where water collects and from flash flood channels, and report problems and risks through official channels, treating residents' safety as a shared responsibility.
It also showcases how municipalities prepare for rainy conditions: readying roads and public facilities, preparing to deal with standing water, responding faster to reports and coordinating with other agencies so that residents can move safely and municipal services continue. Regional municipalities and their local branches, along with government and professional bodies, are taking part to unify awareness messages and widen their reach.
The ministry said a city's readiness is only complete with the awareness and cooperation of its residents, and invited the public to file municipal reports through the Balady platform and app or by calling the contact centre on 940.
