Ten people have died and four others were injured after a fire broke out today at a tourist resort in south-eastern Bangladesh.

Mohammad Murshed Hossain, deputy assistant director of the area's fire service and civil defence department, said the blaze started in the morning at a resort in Inani, in the tourist district of Cox's Bazar near the Bay of Bengal, and quickly spread through the three-storey wooden building.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, and the authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident.
