Airports in western and southwestern Saudi Arabia are facing operational disruption amid heightened military tension in the Middle East, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea said in an advisory dated October 15. It urged Koreans to avoid visiting the Kingdom unless essential and, before heading to an airport, to confirm their flight with the airline or with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA, +966-9200-11233).
According to the embassy, some routes at Jeddah airport are cancelled and delays are frequent. Madinah airport is operating normally, though airlines have temporarily halted some international services, including to India and Malaysia. Turkish Airlines flies several times a day from both Jeddah and Madinah to Istanbul, and EgyptAir from both cities to Cairo.
Abha airport is closed from 18:00 until 06:00 the following morning and operates normally during the day. The embassy described the Abha area as frequently targeted by what it called the "Houthi rebels".
