The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Saudi Arabia has issued a safety alert after the Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Thursday, October 15, that it had intercepted one cruise missile in the Madinah region, without specifying where. The embassy noted that there had been no statement from what it called the "Houthi rebels", who it said continue to warn of possible attacks on Saudi airspace other than Makkah and Madinah.

A level 3 travel alert, recommending departure, remains in force for all of Saudi Arabia. The embassy advised Korean nationals to leave unless they have essential business and those planning trips to cancel or postpone them. Anyone who must travel should share their itinerary and emergency contacts with family and friends.

Residents are asked to follow local media closely and take care around likely targets such as oil facilities, airports, ports and crowded places. The embassy also reminded nationals that Saudi Arabia strictly bans photographing or sharing images of incident scenes, and that the Consular Call Center can be reached in emergencies through its smartphone app.
