Residents of Al-Firdaws district in Buqayq Governorate now have five upgraded parks and public facilities, after the Eastern Region Municipality completed redevelopment works across a total area of more than 16,000 square metres.

The project added 3,642 square metres of green space, 149 parking spaces and a 1,900-metre walking track. The municipality said the work is part of its push to improve municipal services, enhance the urban landscape and raise the quality of life in the governorate, in support of the Saudi Green Initiative.

Municipality spokesman Faisal Al-Zahrani said the project builds on wider efforts to upgrade public facilities in the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province, providing recreational spaces, greenery and sports facilities that meet the needs of people living in residential neighbourhoods.
