Wadi Makkah Technology Company, the investment arm of Umm Al-Qura University, has called on innovators and people interested in developing technology solutions to take part in the Childhood Hackathon, organised by the Enmaa Association for Childhood Care in the Eastern Province. The aim is to devise solutions that meet children's needs and improve their quality of life.
The hackathon brings together 50 male and female participants in 12 teams, drawn from university students, practitioners, professionals and people interested in childhood and innovation. They will develop ideas and initiatives based on an understanding of the needs of children, families and workers in the field.
Participants follow an innovation journey that starts with identifying real needs, moves on to designing suitable solutions and ends with building prototypes of technology initiatives that can be developed and applied, with the goal of increasing social impact and improving services for children.
The event also seeks to spread a culture of innovation, encourage creative thinking and help participants use modern technologies to address social, developmental and economic challenges, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Wadi Makkah Technology said its participation is part of its efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship, help innovators turn their ideas into workable technical solutions and link knowledge and research with the needs of society, children first among them.
