Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy recorded 723 violations of the petroleum and petrochemical products law and the law governing the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for residential and commercial use, after its inspectors carried out 14,335 field visits in September 2026.
Most of the breaches involved operating petroleum or petrochemical businesses without the required ministry licence and selling LPG cylinders at retail without a permit, alongside other violations of the two laws.
The ministry said the campaign is meant to raise compliance with regulations, secure reliable petroleum and petrochemical supplies, and improve oversight of the activities it regulates, in order to curb illegal practices and protect the market.
Consumers are encouraged to report concerns about how the two laws are applied by calling the Beneficiary Services Center on toll-free number 1914, through the Taqa partner services app on the Apple and Android stores, or via the national Tawakkalna app.
Reports are handled by 20 inspection branches spread across the Kingdom's regions, which work around the clock to respond quickly, follow up on complaints and deal with emergencies.
