Around 100 Filipino community members joined Consul General Rommel Romato in planting saplings and trees at Jabal Al-Qamar National Park in Khulais, according to a Saudi Press Agency report published on 1 November 2026.

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification organized the event, with the Philippine consulate participating, during the national planting season.

The activity highlights residents’ involvement in local environmental initiatives. The initiative supports vegetation growth and the rehabilitation of degraded land under the Saudi Green Initiative.
