A fresh humanitarian convoy loaded with tents reached Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip today. The shelter supplies were provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) as part of the Saudi popular campaign to support the Palestinian people in the Strip.
The Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, which carries out KSrelief's work inside Gaza, took delivery of the shipment ahead of distributing it in coming relief rounds. The goal is to answer appeals from affected and displaced families quickly and to give shelter to households that have nowhere safe to stay.
The tents matter all the more with winter approaching. Warnings keep recurring about the toll that storms and heavy rain take on displaced people, many of whom live in tents offering little protection. Stocks of shelter items need to be built up early to cope with flooded tents and damaged camps, hardships the Strip suffered in previous winters.
The convoy continues the Kingdom's steady support for the Palestinian people in Gaza through KSrelief, its humanitarian arm.
