Trains running within Saudi cities carried 145.4 million passengers in 2025, while intercity trains carried 10.9 million, according to General Authority for Statistics data reported by Al Riyadh newspaper.

Intercity passenger services made 42,827 trips over the year, and freight trains made 8,885.

The railways moved 16.1 million tonnes of goods and 915.4 thousand standard containers (TEUs).
