The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has ordered the withdrawal of all batches of CLASGEN 0.5 mg/ml eye drops, which contain the active ingredient ciclosporin and are made by South Korean firm Huons Co. Ltd, after critical findings at the company's plant, Al Riyadh newspaper reported.

The move follows decision No. 48/SFDA/1274/105 by the committee that registers pharmaceutical companies and factories, which suspended the plant's registration and recalled all its products over issues with data integrity and sterile manufacturing.

Healthcare practitioners have been told to stop dispensing and using the product and to quarantine their stock.
