The Strategic Office for the Development of Al-Jouf Region yesterday concluded Jahiz Tatamman, a three-day community health initiative held on Al-Yan Boulevard in Sakaka with 25 government, private and non-profit organisations taking part.

More than 6,500 visitors attended and more than 1,850 early-detection screenings were carried out. Twenty-nine people were referred to hospitals and specialist health centres to complete their tests and receive the care they need.

The initiative aimed to raise health awareness and a culture of prevention and to make health services and early screening easier to reach by bringing health, prevention and awareness bodies together in one place. It forms part of the office's work on the Al-Jouf development plan and on partnerships between sectors.

Building on the previous edition, the office helped launch a project to establish the Tatamman association for preventive awareness in Al-Jouf, which will run health and awareness programmes and organise the event every year. The office is also studying the creation of an investment fund with institutional partners to give the association a sustainable source of funding.
