The Ministry of Education plans to trial moving classes to synchronous remote learning in four education departments — Makkah, the Eastern Province, Tabuk and Najran — for no more than 10 days during the 1448 AH academic year, spread across three levels, Okaz newspaper reported.

According to the ministry's implementation guide for this year, the trial is meant to test the technical and operational readiness of schools and learning platforms and to build teachers' skills in e-learning and remote teaching strategies.

It also aims to strengthen students' learning skills and their ability to use learning management systems, and to encourage excellence in e-learning through innovative activities.
