Abha Maternity and Children's Hospital has been awarded international Baby-Friendly accreditation after successfully completing the assessment process, a new achievement for maternal and child care in the Aseer region.

The Aseer Health Cluster said the hospital earned the accreditation after applying all the standards of the initiative approved by the World Health Organization and UNICEF for the period from 1447 AH/2026 to 1450 AH/2029. The standards centre on the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, promoting and supporting breastfeeding, and providing comprehensive, high-quality care for mothers and babies.

The cluster said the accreditation reflects its commitment to raising the quality of medical services, providing a safe environment that supports breastfeeding, and following the health of new generations from the moment of birth.
