The Royal Commission for Jubail, through its Crisis and Disaster Management Department, today held the 2026 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction Forum under the theme “Resilience Starts at Home” at the King Abdullah Cultural Center in Jubail Industrial City. The event drew 479 specialists and people interested in risk, crisis and disaster management and business continuity.
Aimed at promoting a culture of prevention and raising preparedness for risks and challenges, the forum featured specialised workshops and panel discussions on readiness at the level of individuals, families and organisations, and on the role of proactive planning in reducing the impact of risks and keeping businesses running. It also reviewed the Royal Commission's main efforts and achievements in crisis and disaster management.
The forum coincided with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, marked on 13 October every year. The commission said it reflects its commitment to spreading a culture of prevention, sharing knowledge and expertise, and strengthening coordination among the relevant bodies to build a safer and more resilient community.
