Egypt's Al-Azhar has denounced in the strongest terms the heinous attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which left dead and injured among innocent civilians and Umrah pilgrims, the guests of the Most Merciful.
The institution said that striking civilian facilities and people travelling to the Two Holy Mosques provokes the feelings of Muslims, crosses every human value and international norm, and directly undermines the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.
In its statement, Al-Azhar renewed its total rejection of these repeated criminal attacks on innocent civilians and on the Kingdom's security and stability, warning of the consequences of persisting in them. Protecting the region's security, it said, requires these attacks to stop at once, together with full respect for the sovereignty of states and the inviolability of their land.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, offered his sincere condolences to the Kingdom's leadership and people and to the families of the dead. He prayed that God grant the deceased His mercy and forgiveness and the injured a swift recovery, and that He protect the land of the Two Holy Mosques and all Muslim countries from harm and keep them safe and stable.
