Bidding for a young peregrine falcon from the Hafar Al-Batin area (Al-Dabdaba) started at SAR60,000 and closed at SAR106,000 on the third night of the National Center for Falcons Auction 2026, held in the evening before a large audience of falconry heritage enthusiasts.
Four trappers took part in catching the bird. The auction, organized by the center, continues until November 30.
Only young migratory peregrines trapped inside the Kingdom are accepted for sale. Mature peregrines (qarnas) and saker falcons are excluded in order to protect the sustainability of both species and preserve their lines.
Locally trapped falcons will be received for two months, and the auction nights are broadcast on television channels and social media so that falconers and the wider public can follow the bidding.
Throughout the trapping season, the center offers trappers a package of services: its teams in the different regions receive the falcon's owner, and the center pays for his accommodation and travel to the auction site, where the bird is offered in a quick, live competitive sale shown on the broadcasting channels and the center's social media accounts.
