The National Falcon Center's auctions wrapped up the Mongolian falcon sale on Saturday evening with two saker falcons sold for a combined SR800,000, as the Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026 held its closing day.
On the sixth and final night of the Mongolian auction, bidding on an adult saker ("Hur Qarnas") opened at SR100,000 and closed at SR700,000, while a juvenile saker ("Hur Farkh") sold for SR100,000. For the second year running, the exhibition set aside a dedicated zone for falcons from Mongolia, led by the Mongolian saker, where falconers could inspect the birds and bid on them live through the auction platform.
At the center's auction for locally trapped falcons, the second night featured a peregrine chick caught in the Hafr Al-Batin area known as Al-Dibdibah by a group of six trappers. Bidding started at SR100,000 and ended at SR145,000.
The center's auction runs until November 30 and accepts only chicks of the migratory peregrine falcon trapped inside the Kingdom. Adult peregrines and saker falcons are excluded to support their sustainability and protect their bloodlines. During the trapping season, the center's teams receive trappers across the regions, arrange their accommodation and transport to the auction venue, and present their birds in a live competitive auction broadcast on television and the center's social media accounts.
Organized by the National Falcon Center under the slogan "A Destination for All," the exhibition ran for ten days at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh.
