Libya's House of Representatives has condemned the attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia, which left civilians dead and injured, saying the assault endangered civilians, the security of civilian facilities and air traffic.

In a statement issued today and carried by the Libyan News Agency, the chamber voiced its complete solidarity with the Kingdom — its leadership, government and people — and said it stood by Saudi Arabia against anything targeting its security, stability and sovereignty or the safety of its citizens and residents.

Targeting airports and civilian facilities and putting the lives of travellers and staff at risk breaches the relevant international rules and laws and threatens regional security and stability, the House said, calling for a clear international position to stop such attacks and prevent them from happening again.

The chamber offered its sincere condolences to the victims' families and to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia, wished the injured a swift recovery, and underlined the need to strengthen Arab solidarity and joint cooperation to protect the security and stability of Arab states.
