Farmers in AlUla are reaching new buyers through the AlUla Dates Season, which gives them a platform to display and sell their crops and builds on generations of palm cultivation in the oasis, at a time when Saudi dates are winning wider access to world markets.

According to the Royal Commission for AlUla's Agriculture Center, the governorate is among the Kingdom's leading date producers, with more than 4.2 million palms on 16,484 hectares producing around 130,000 tons of dates a year.

The AlUla Dates Auction attracted traders and buyers from several countries, linking them directly with local growers and opening commercial channels to markets at home and abroad.

Nationally, Saudi Arabia ranked first in the world by value of date exports for the fourth year running, according to the International Trade Centre, with exports of about SAR1.938 billion in 2025 to more than 125 countries. Production topped 1.9 million tons from more than 37 million palms.

The season reflects the long bond between AlUla's people and their palms and gives farmers more ways to sell, supporting the growing presence of AlUla dates in Saudi and foreign markets.
