Prof. Waleed bin Hassan Al-Maliki, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Umm Al-Qura University's College of Pharmacy, has been included in Stanford University's list of the world's top 2% most influential scientists for the third year running, Al Riyadh newspaper reported.

The list draws on the Scopus database and research indicators such as citations, research impact and each researcher's contribution to scientific output, measuring scientists' influence within their own fields.

Al Riyadh said the recognition highlights the standing of Saudi talent in pharmaceutical research internationally.
