Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, through its College of Languages, is hosting an event at its Conferences and Seminars Center to underline the growing importance of Chinese in Saudi Arabia and bring Saudi and Chinese cultures closer.

Aimed at the university's students and anyone interested in the language, the event offers a hands-on cultural experience covering opportunities to study Chinese, the careers it can open up and aspects of Chinese culture.

The programme includes 'Poetry in Two Languages from Nourah', with two poems recited in Arabic and Chinese; a panel titled 'Three Saudi Gateways to China: Tourism, Language Exchange and Scientific Research'; a display of a traditional Chinese tool; and 'A Success Story Called Nourah', in which graduates of the Department of Asian Languages talk about learning and using Chinese.

A cultural exhibition featuring art and heritage pieces from several Chinese organisations runs alongside the event, part of the department's efforts to enrich learning and open students to world languages and cultures in line with the university's strategic plan.
