The League of Arab States has condemned the terrorist Houthi group's attacks on Maashiq Palace, the seat of the Yemeni government in Aden, on Aden International Airport and on residential neighbourhoods in the city of Marib, which caused deaths and injuries and put civilians' lives in grave danger.
In a statement, the League described the attacks as an “extremely dangerous escalation” and a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. It said the continued targeting of state institutions and civilian facilities showed a determination to pursue escalation, threatening Yemen's security and stability and undermining efforts toward calm and a political settlement.
The League reaffirmed its firm support for Yemen's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the Yemeni government and legitimate state institutions. It urged the international community to take firm positions and measures to stop the attacks, hold those responsible to account and protect civilians.
It also welcomed the UN Security Council presidential statement of October 15, 2026, which condemned the escalating Houthi attacks and called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilians and civilian facilities. The League stressed the need for stronger Arab and international efforts toward a comprehensive political settlement based on the agreed references and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost Resolution 2216.
The League offered its condolences to the families of the victims, wished the injured a swift recovery and affirmed its full solidarity with the Yemeni government and people.
