The 15th Al-Baha Pomegranate Festival has ended after five days of strong attendance from visitors, farmers and people interested in agriculture. The event was organised by the Al-Baha branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

A total of 50 pomegranate growers from the region took part, together with 10 productive families selling a range of processed pomegranate products. Government entities also ran stands offering agricultural awareness and extension programmes and promoting local produce.

Eng. Fahd bin Muftah Al-Zahrani, Director General of the ministry's branch in the region, said more than 60 tons of pomegranates were sold. He attributed the strong turnout to the support and attention the agricultural sector receives from the Prince of Al-Baha Region and his deputy.

Al-Zahrani said the festival highlighted the quality of the region's pomegranates and their economic and nutritional value, opened new marketing channels for farmers and boosted investment opportunities in agriculture.

Outstanding farmers, participating entities and sponsors were honoured at the closing. The festival is regarded as one of the region's leading annual agricultural events.
