Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University has presented the story of eLo, a Saudi artificial intelligence guide developed entirely in-house, to an international audience at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. The symposium, "From Knowledge to Action: Transforming Higher Education for Climate Resilience", ran on October 6 and 7, 2026, and brought together academics, researchers and specialists from higher education institutions worldwide.

Dr. Albandari Al Sumait, the university's Dean of E-Learning and Distance Learning, delivered the paper. She explained that eLo is the first AI guide at a Saudi university and was built wholly by the team at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Learning, offering a complete institutional model for using AI to support teaching and learning.

The presentation walked through the eLo toolkit, which includes a smart assistant, a question generator and an intelligent summariser, and described how several of its services are linked to the Blackboard Ultra platform. It also set out how the system helps faculty, students and researchers and makes teaching practices more efficient.

The university said taking part reflects its aim of bringing national innovations to international knowledge platforms, contributing to the future of digital learning and AI in higher education, and showing that Saudi universities can develop high-quality educational solutions with lasting impact.
