The Riyadh Region Municipality has confiscated 2,302 packs of e-cigarette products in a joint inspection campaign on vape shops in its northern Riyadh sector, carried out with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Inspectors found three outlets in breach of health requirements. The seized products, in a range of flavours, were expired, of unknown origin and carried no expiry dates. Samples were sent for laboratory testing to determine how hazardous they are and how far they fail to meet the standards.

The municipality said it will keep up field inspections with partner agencies to protect public health and ensure businesses comply with regulations.

It added that reports submitted through the Madinati app help speed up on-the-ground responses, describing residents' cooperation as an effective partnership in protecting the community and improving quality of life in the capital.
