The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Saudi Arabia issued a safety notice on October 10 saying King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was attacked on Thursday, October 8, and Saturday, October 10, causing flight cancellations and diversions. The embassy advised Korean nationals to avoid the airport and its surroundings as far as possible for the time being.

  • Anyone due to fly into or out of Riyadh should confirm through the airline's official channels that the flight is operating and the airport is open before setting off.
  • Follow safety announcements and emergency alerts from local authorities and comply with their control measures and instructions.
  • Those already at the airport or another affected area should move to a safe place as directed by officials on site.

The embassy said it is monitoring the situation closely and urged citizens to take particular care of their personal safety. Its after-hours emergency line is +966-50-080-1065.
