The main indexes on Wall Street finished Thursday's session in mixed territory, as losses in technology-heavy and broad-market benchmarks contrasted with a modest gain for blue chips.

The Nasdaq Composite was the biggest decliner, shedding 341.59 points, or 1.24%, to settle at 27,197.10. The S&P 500 fell 36.07 points, or 0.46%, to close at 7,765.70.

Bucking the trend, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 45.68 points, or 0.09%, to end the day at 51,225.48.
