KSrelief's Masam Project removed 1,256 mines and pieces of unexploded ordnance from areas across Yemen in the first week of October: 14 anti-personnel mines, 41 anti-tank mines and 1,201 unexploded items.
That brings the project's total since its launch to 594,745. The mines were laid indiscriminately in many parts of Yemen, endangering innocent children, women and elderly people and spreading fear among civilians.
Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia is pressing on with clearing Yemeni land of mines, improving civilian safety and helping Yemenis live in security and dignity.
