Historic Jeddah Summer invites visitors to do more than stroll through the district's lanes, markets and landmarks. Its programme brings together culture, art, technology and learning, showing how this UNESCO World Heritage site can present its heritage with a contemporary spirit.

At the Red Sea Museum, visitors can explore the Kingdom's maritime heritage and the sea's links with civilisations and peoples, while the “Sunken Treasures” exhibition traces the history of navigation, shipwrecks and underwater archaeology. From August 25 to 29 the museum will run the “Red Sea Lab” summer camp, using the sea as a living laboratory for children to discover science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on activities.

The teamLab Borderless museum offers a distinctive digital world where artworks change as visitors interact with them. Zawiya 97, for its part, keeps traditional crafts alive through workshops in Arabic calligraphy, gilding, copper engraving and wood carving.

The Sharbatly Cultural House (Beit Al-Sharbatly) uses its historic setting for children's and teenagers' programmes in design, architecture, programming and innovation.

The season also caters to mind sports, with the Jeddah Season Chess Championship bringing together players from several countries, alongside community activities that draw a broad audience.
