Two races on the Riyadh Racing Season calendar won international upgrades at the 29th General Assembly of the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), held on Saturday in Paris. The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Sword rose from Group 3 to Group 2, and the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman bin Faisal Cup moved up from Listed status to Group 3.
The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia was represented by its CEO, Prince Salman bin Abdullah bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Saud, accompanied by the club’s executive team.
The assembly examined a range of Arabian horse racing issues, including closer cooperation and coordination among member countries and organizations and the further development of the sport and its international profile.
Club spokesperson Faisal Al-Atawi described the upgrades as an important step for Arabian horse racing in the Kingdom. He said they reflect the high organizational and technical level of Saudi racing, make the season more competitive and reinforce the global presence of Saudi Arabian horse racing.
