His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic. The two ministers reviewed relations between the two countries, their partnership in a range of fields and ways to develop it further for the benefit of both sides.

They also discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to contain their consequences. Barrot reiterated France's condemnation of what he described as the terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia and affirmed his country's solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

Both sides stressed the need to step up diplomatic efforts to guarantee the security and safety of regional waterways and freedom of navigation, and to support diplomacy aimed at comprehensive and lasting solutions to the region's current crises, in order to strengthen security and stability.
