Egypt has strongly condemned what it called the heinous attempt to target Makkah, describing it as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of religious holy sites.

A statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said such attacks run counter to Islamic values and clearly breach the rules and provisions of international law.

Egypt stated its absolute rejection of any act that threatens Saudi Arabia's security, which it described as an integral part of Arab national security and closely tied to Egypt's own. It expressed support for any measures the Kingdom takes to protect its sovereignty, territory and citizens.
