The Buraidah International Dates Carnival has changed markedly over the years, growing from a local seasonal date market into a major international festival that brings production, trade, investment and marketing together.

Strategic initiatives tied to the carnival, such as wider partnerships and stronger marketing and export channels, have created new openings for Saudi date products in world markets.

Its economic base is solid. Qassim Region has around 11 million palm trees producing more than 580,000 tons of dates a year in over 100 varieties, and Saudi dates are exported to more than 100 countries, a measure of the sector’s growing reach and competitiveness.

Running for 75 days, the carnival continues to consolidate its role as a global platform that connects stakeholders, supports investment and marketing, and expands the international footprint of Saudi dates.
