Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior launched “Absher Travel for Visitors” on 26 October 2026, the Saudi Press Agency reported that day. Available through the Absher app, it covers all Saudi land border crossings and is intended for GCC citizens and visitors.

Before travelling, users select their nationality and enter their phone number and travel-document type. They then choose the crossing and expected travel date and provide traveller, vehicle and vehicle-insurance details. This allows details to be submitted before arrival.

The service will become mandatory six months after launch, not immediately. The announcement concerns land crossings, rather than airports.
