Local manufacturers were briefed on supply opportunities in the King Salman Gate project at a workshop held at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources with Rua Al Haram Al Makki Company, the project's master developer, which is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund. Deputy Minister for Industry Affairs Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah attended, along with industrial investors and engineering and consulting firms.

The developer identified a number of industrial opportunities, mainly in construction-related industries, including heating, cooling and air conditioning, electrical appliances, telecommunications, lifts and firefighting systems.

Participants discussed raising local content in giga-projects and linking national factories to the project's needs. The workshop also covered supplier qualification programmes and the requirements factories must meet, stressing compliance with the highest standards of quality and competitiveness.

The developer introduced King Salman Gate, a destination next to the Grand Mosque intended to enrich the experience of residents, pilgrims and visitors in Makkah, and outlined its local content targets in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The event is part of the ministry's efforts to promote local content and strengthen industry's role in diversifying the national economy.
