Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the Li'ajlihim Association for Serving Persons with Disabilities to learn about its programmes and its work to build the skills, independence and community participation of people with disabilities.

He toured the facilities accompanied by Her Highness Princess Nouf bint Abdulrahman bin Nasser, chair of the board; His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Nasser, the CEO; and His Highness Prince Nawaf bin Fahd bin Mishari, deputy CEO.

The association presented initiatives including the "Tibyan" Qur'an, the "Rafiqi" app, the "Their Right in Mosques" app, the "Huquqi" (My Rights) initiative and a robotics club, along with its services for people with disabilities and their families. These use technology, knowledge and awareness to ease access to services and widen opportunities to learn. The minister also reviewed the association's investment arms and met people with disabilities working in its decorative arts section.

Princess Nouf said access to education, training and skills development is the foundation for empowering people with disabilities and opening wider paths to work and creativity. She said the association aims to deepen cooperation with relevant bodies, develop initiatives combining knowledge, technology and rehabilitation, and make its services more sustainable so they reach more beneficiaries.
