Qassim University's College of Engineering has secured the European EUR-ACE label for seven of its academic programmes. The award follows programme accreditation by the German agency ASIIN and adds to the college's existing accreditations from the US-based ABET and Saudi Arabia's National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA).
The accredited programmes are three bachelor's degrees, in electrical, mechanical and civil engineering, and four master's degrees, in renewable energy engineering and in electrical, civil and mechanical engineering. The university said this confirms that they meet international standards for engineering education.
According to the university, holding a range of national and international accreditations reflects the quality of the college's teaching, research and graduates. It is expected to give employers more confidence in its engineers and make them more competitive in Saudi and international job markets.
The university added that the results strengthen its position in engineering education and support Saudi Vision 2030 goals for developing human capabilities and preparing qualified national talent.
