The Jeddah Literary Club hosted a cultural evening at its headquarters titled "The Future of Narrative between Print and Electronic Publishing: Horizons and Challenges", as part of its "Rewaq Al-Sard" (Narrative Gallery) forum. Writers, intellectuals and literature enthusiasts attended.
Discussion focused on how literary publishing is changing in the digital era, the challenges and opportunities created by new technologies, and the role of online platforms in bringing fiction to wider audiences. Speakers also considered the place of the printed book now that readers have so many ways to read.
Participants explored where the relationship between print and digital publishing is heading and the new possibilities technology opens for writers and publishers. Members of the audience contributed comments on the state of publishing and its future challenges.
The evening was accompanied by a visual arts exhibition organised with the Visual Arts Forum and a small book fair featuring literary and cultural titles, part of the club's efforts to energise cultural life and bring literature and the arts closer together.
