Saudi Arabia is now first in the world for activation of RPKI RoV, a technology that secures how internet traffic is routed, with an activation rate of 99.8%, according to the latest figures from APNIC, the registry that manages internet number resources in the Asia-Pacific region.

The technology checks that internet traffic is directed to authorised networks and reduces the risk of it being diverted to untrusted websites or online services.

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) said the top ranking shows the sector's success in adopting global best practice and reflects the Kingdom's strong position in international indicators, making its internet infrastructure more mature, reliable and secure.

The result adds to Saudi Arabia's place among the top five countries worldwide in the IPv6 indicator and its first place among G20 countries in DNSSEC validation.
